Install

brew install --cask bettershot (or download the .dmg from the GitHub Releases page and drag to Applications; requires macOS 14.0+ with Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions)

Invoke

Launch BetterShot from the macOS menu bar, press Cmd+Shift+4 for a region screenshot (Cmd+Shift+2 to record, Cmd+Shift+O for OCR), then click the floating preview to open the editor for annotation, background, and export via Cmd+S
