Use it when

• AI-generated diagrams come back as static images or Mermaid text you cannot tweak, and you want hand-drawn Excalidraw diagrams you can edit interactively in the chat
• You want an assistant to sketch architecture diagrams or drawings with viewport camera control and fullscreen editing directly inside Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, or another MCP Apps client

• clients without MCP Apps extension support
• pixel-precise or brand-styled diagram output (hand-drawn Excalidraw style)

Add remote MCP server https://mcp.excalidraw.com to any MCP Apps client; or download excalidraw-mcp-app.mcpb from Releases and double-click to install in Claude Desktop

Prompt the assistant: "Draw an architecture diagram showing a user connecting to an API server which talks to a database"
